Your WAP should describe how you facilitated a recently completed project/programme. You should explain how you and your youth were involved in planning, implementing and evaluating the project/programme. Describe what you and your youth learned from the experience.

Doing any project we need an action plan which include situation analyses which we must know the situation such as time frame, facilities available but it depends on the project that we do. Information gathering is very important if we do any project because by doing this we know the background of the project which can apply the objectives of the paper works. Organizing and implementation is more like plan anything such as activity, timetable before and when the project started and finally monitoring and evaluation is very important to know our strength and weaknesses of the project which also we can know either the project success. From this we can improve the project for the next time when we going to do the project again. Below the show The Project Cycle:-

Youth’s Extravaganza Night is one of the projects that organize by Youth and Sport Department of Temburong in Collaboration with the Youth Club of Temburong. This project was held by the conjunction of His Majesty Birthday which about one hundred youth were involve by participating the event by taking part in Dancing (Traditional), Drama, Live Band, Music (Traditional) and Singing.

Honestly speaking, this project don’t have any paper work given, only told and instructed to do this event in short notice which were only a few weeks to practice before the event started. As we can see that this project were having a lot of weakness rather than the strength. Of course there is budget given for this project; however that budget were really not enough but then we already agree to take this offer and this is the first time we get this offer. Nevertheless this project has strength and weaknesses before the project held. At the beginning shows that a lot of weaknesses such as there is no working paper for this project. Accepting this project in short notice also one of the weaknesses because time frame really very short in order to prepare any type of performance.

At first, as usual before the project started we have a meeting once which people from our department and some of the youth were involved in this meeting. The meeting was to discuss about this project or event which were to organize a working committee in order to split up the responsibility, everybody got different responsibility including the youth. This meeting also discussing about the budget and plan what to do for this budget. This meeting also discuss about what time of performance do we perform at that night so we decide to perform four type of performance such as Dancing (Traditional), Music (Modern and Traditional), Drama and Singing. As we can see that there is strength for this part but there are weaknesses. The strength for this part are there is a meeting were held before the project (PLAN) which this meeting were split up the responsibility of the project to people who attend in that meeting including the youth. This is good to involve youth to participate this event or project because to give them an opportunity to show their quality and talents in many ways such as Dancing (Traditional), Music (Modern and Traditional), Drama and Singing. This is the first time for the youth to get involve for this type of event or show in front of people as in public. So they were showed some commitment for this project. For this project there are working committee which all people were responsible for their work they assign which were the strength for the project also. Many weaknesses we can see from this part such ah only one meeting were held for this project which for me were not enough because to do a big project we must at least have 2-3 times meeting in order to make this project run smoothly. Secondly, the working committee were enough but then some of the youth were don’t have any experienced to do this type of work which can cause many problem to other people. For this problem they were correct the by involving experience people to work with the youth but then it’s not very successfully correct because there is no understanding between the people involve which can cause more problem.

Every project such as to perform in front of public need more practice to do. For this project there is only a few weeks to practice which is not enough. There is no proper timetable for the practice for this event. Although there were already discussing and decide about the timetable but then people who involve don’t care about the timetable they just do the decision form practicing in short notice which is can cause many problem like place because place for practicing is very limited. We can see the strength for this part which organizing committee already plan the timetable for practicing any performance but they just ignore it and there is a place for them practice but it so limited because sometimes the place were booked by others. Sometimes they do not follow order from other top organizing committee which means that they don’t have teamwork with other committee. Some of the youth involved were still schooling and some of them were still searching for a job (unemployment). This is very hard for them to practicing in time because of some of them were still schooling. This is one of the reasons why they were not come for practice in time and this is why they change the timetable in short notice. But for this problem there is correction action but then its not well success because although the new timetable were given but then still some people cannot attend the practice. Other reason they can’t come because problem in transportation.

Although there is a plan and strategies for this project but still there is some weaknesses during the implementation. Too much change in type of performance like dancing which from the beginning there is no specific type of dance there were want to performance, they keep on changing so many time which can create a problem for the youth who participate in dancing. Also there is so many teachers who teach for dancing which also can create a problem because different people different style of teaching so the youth don’t know who to follow. It’s very hard for them to follow instruction for different people. So we have other alternative which is different teacher take part for this event in charge different type of dance. Changing in people who taking part any type of performance was one of the factors that cause problem during the implementation. Sometimes they were practice for certain time and not attending practices the time given because of many personal reasons. So we have to search for other replacement but then its very hard to find an replacement. Sometimes they give up all of sudden because cannot afford to do what they have agree at beginning. Same to working committee, youth who don’t have any experienced sometimes have given up and give their responsible to other person. Sudden change can bring much change and possibility damage in morale of the participant.

One man show is one of the reason there is much problem during the implementation, no teamwork with other which also can create problem. They started to think negatively which can affect their confident level but luckily there is a leadership quality among the person in charge for this project. This is one of the strength for this project, good leadership psychologically can give support in order to boost their confident level but only certain people who don’t have teamwork which can affect much for the participant involve like trying to manipulate others to give up or to encourage them to dislike to other people.

In project planning, implementing and evaluating is very important to have enough budget because is one of the key of success for the project. For this project budget available were only very limited which we only given $500.00. For me this project is really big, so we deserve more budgets in order to make this project run smoothly. This shows some weaknesses for this project because we need many things for this project such as foods for the participant during the practice and actual event which is very much needed but not only that we have to rent other thing such as sound system and so on. During the implementation of this project we also have plan A (Do all the activities above like dancing, music, drama and singing) and plan B (Cut some of the activities if times were limited or some activity have to drop because of other thing that cannot ovoid so that’s why if plan A not success we must change to plan B.

At the actual event for this project run smoothly although there is only a few problem had occurred such as time frame which we’re not finished on time because of technical problem so we have to cut some of the performance which is can down participant morale. This project was considering a success but there is a strength and weaknesses during the starting of the event or during the implementation which we must improve for the next project. Post mortem is one of the techniques to know our strength and weaknesses which can people can give their thought and debate of the problems that occurred before and during this project were occurred. However this only can be improve by doing the PROJECT CYCLE above shown which is very useful to used because planning a project need time to do a proper paperwork including the budgeting. However planning a project also need

Learning Journal For Unit 7

Facilitating adult learning

How do you: 1. communicate with your youth? 2. involve them in planning activities 3. analyse their needs 4. set and match programme and learning objectives to meet these needs 5. design the programme 6. organise project work 7. implement programmes 8. evaluate programmes.


Effective communication is built on trusting relationships and the best place to begin is with you. “Communication” is a broad topic and includes learning how to craft words, how to develop verbal techniques, how to listen, how to read non-verbal messages, and other important abilities. The best carefully crafted words, delivered with great technique and skill will only be so much noise without something more. Before we can build trusting relationships and effectively communicate with youth, we must have a good understanding of ourselves. In short, we must recognize our abilities and gifts, limitations and strengths and actively rely on the Holy Spirit.

Above picture is about communication which we can see also there is many type or ways how to communicate with people.


One of our communication goals is to let the young person know that we really care about him or her. This is a vital link in the whole communication process. At times it will seem as though they are oblivious to our genuine love - our actions and words bounce off, unable to penetrate their hard exterior. For those who have been hurt and hardened by past experiences and present realities, accepting love is most difficult.

Listen to everything that is being said. Every message has two components, the content and the feelings underlying the content. Both give the message its meaning, and it is the total meaning which we must attempt to understand. You may be thinking that listening is too passive and that in order to be helpful, you should be directive, telling the troubled young person what to do. Clinical experience and research evidence, however, clearly show that sensitive listening is an excellent method for affecting personality change.

Respond to feelings. Often the verbal content is much less important than the underlying feelings. When you respond to feelings you tell the young person, “I am interested in you as a person, and I think that what you feel is important.”

As a youth worker it is important to involved young people to do any activity… and before that also we must also involved them to plan the activity which from this we will know that what the young people needs. As for me i usually involved them with planning the activity. From that we can shared a lot of things which either we can improved the quality nor the quantity also..meaning to say that young people also have many influenced which they can manage to tell their friends..groups to join the activity. However by involving doesnt mean we involved them secara mengajut.. actually we doing it step by step from this they can learn slowly but affective. Usually the way we think is not the sama what they think so by involving them it easier for me to know what they really want..what type of activity that they really want. Giving an opportunity for them is a must in order to see what quality and creativity that they really have. Based on my experienced at work… its very enjoyable to work with the youth…we can shares whats on our mind … from this the idea will come out sometimes its so many but of course at the begginning it is very difficult for them but slowly they will learn from people experienced and also from their own experienced.

As a youth worker we must also be flexible to the people especially the youth. whatever they want to do just give them an opportunity althugh it was not success at very first time they do.. from failure they will learn something which can make them more stronger to face any challenges… from that also they can learn from their own mistake which can be usefull for them also. Nevertheless we must also memainkan pernan untuk mengajar the young people.. apa yang durang buat inda kira lah yang durang buat atu baik atau ada yang kekurangan we must give feedbck to them … we must teach them from this they will know what the mistake or kekurangan dalam membuat sesuatu aktibiti itu.

Usually when i design any programme or activity doing research is one of the tools that i use. There is man type os reserach that i doing .. by talking to them informally… discuss with them what they want and really need the most and also get feedback from previous activity ( by writing ) … from this i will know what type of activity that i must do. However desing the programme also boleh di buat based on meliat apa kelemahan atau kekurangan yang ada pada belia belia contohnya mereka memerlukan pengurusan dari segi kewangan atau pentadbiran dalam sebuah persatuan atau kelab.. dengan ini boleh lah kita membuat sesuatu aktibiti based in what they really need.

Youth activity


As always any projects or programme need preparation before we do it. Time is most important thing when we do any project. Meaning to say is we need time to plan the activity .. not to mengajut membuat sesuatu aktibiti atu kalau buleh untuk plan the activity memerlukan masa yang panjang dan memerlukan orang sekeliling untuk sama sama membincangkan apa yang terbaik untuk aktibiti itu. We also choose the right day or date to the activity .. inda bertambung dengan projek lain atau if target for this project is for student we must do it at school holiday if not this will affect them learning at school. Any meeting for discussing youth activity need youth to involved also from this we can have more ideas also.

After finish doing any youth activity we need post-moterm from this we can tingkatkan lagi usaha di masa akan datang or feedback from them …. from this we know whats our kekurangan and apa yang perlu di tambah untuk membuat aktibiti ini di masa akan datang. Biasanya selesai sahaja any youth activity we give them feedback question in order the youth can manage to give comment on the activity they joined.

Learning Journal For Unit 6

Learning styles1. How do you prefer to learn? 2. What styles do you use in working with your youth so that it suits all of them with different styles? 3. Do you show more right or left brain dominance? What are some of your (a) personality traits (b) sensory modes (c) multiple intelligences? What evidences have you come across of socio-cultural background and learning?


Learning Styles

Many people have same type of learning styles and many people also have many different type of learning styles it depends on the individual it self what styles they want to do. Whatever the goals is whatever the vision is whatever the mission is when we work togather as a group we must understand each other type of learning styles. As for me I do like both theory and pratical learning styles which each of those two have advantages and disadvantages but for me pratical learning styles give me more chances to gain more knowledge skills and experienced. As a youth worker we dealing with different people different needs different speciality different styles of working… so this is the opportunities for me to learn from them which for me consider as pratical types of learning. I say this because everytime i worked with other people everytime i talked to other people i will learn something new. When we talked about type of learning styles it also related to environment.. sorrounding.. which for me it depends the situation or it depends on what i want to learn and also it depends on my mood also… Sometimes i need quiet place to do my learning somtimes i need radio to switch on because sometimes music can help us to process our minds or the way of thinking.

For me i usually used so many types of learning styles because different people different needs or different type of style gaining the knowledge so we must be flexible to each other especially the youth who have different needs. As a youth worker also we must treat all the people equally although it is vey hard to do but we must try to be equall and its up to us what method we used what styles as long it feels confortable for people or as long as people can manage and understand the way i worked. Sometimes people already understand to do the work by practically syles and sometimes people need expalnantion (theorical) or sometimes they need both practical and theorical type of styles. However we must make sure also everyone can do the work everyone can understand everyone is HAPPY.


For me sometimes i used left-brained but it also depends on the situation also what types of activity or project and for me i used more on my right brained because of images for me can give me clear image what i want to learned… for me it also easier for me by looking at the picture there so many to learn and easier to remember. As the people say the right brained usually creative , well inutive and spontaneous which as a youth worker need it very much but when it comes from doing any work at office (indoor) for me i usually used lef-brained and people also say they were usually punctual and organized.


Whatever we faced whatever we learned who the people we faced especially the new one i feel too or meet people for the first time but as a youth worker we must be confident dari segi mana mana aspect example in public speaking dan sebagainya. As for me good listner.. easier to make friends is some of my personality because sometimes the youth shared their problem shared their experienced dan sebagainya. Ini membolehkan lagi kita untuk mendekati mereka lagi. For me i liked to share and listen to people problem giving advice shared experienced especially the youth (if they wanna shared). Different people have different type of intelligence different type of specaillites which we can shared and learned to each others.

How do you establish lifelong learning skills and attitudes in your youth?

How adults learn


What characteristics do i have as adult learners…. Teamwork it is vey important for me to have teamwork.. teamwork is needed for doing any work regardless di mana mana tempat even dalam rumah or semasa waktu membuat kerja dan sebagainya. Understand each other needs atau apa sahaja yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan kita seharian atau di mana mana tempat oleh itu adalah sangat penting untuk mempunyai this characteristics because this will also help to me to learned something new or anything. Kemahuan ingin belajar lagi adalah salah aspek yang penting yang patut kita perolehi dalam setiap individu begitu juga dengan saya … tidak kira lah siapa orang atu di mana tempat kita belajar … the most important things is mesti ada kemahuan belajar sesuatu yang baru and it automatically makes ourself to have more knowledege and experienced which also makes me never give up to do any work.

We need TEAMWORK ... UNDERSTANDING and NEVER GIVE UP

Of course experienced can makes ourself more confident and mature. From experienced also we can learn something new and we can get outself ready to face challenge in the near future. As for me i learn a lot from past experienced like how to communicate with people … how to talk with people … shares knowledge and experienced which will help me today and future needs. I can take this course as an example ( Diploma in youth work development ) … whatever we learned whatever we have teach whatever we experienced from the class .. i can apply to my work as dealing with young people and also my people arround me like family friends or colleague. Whatever we learned and experienced from yesterday .. inda kira what type of pengalaman dan pengajaran ia semuanya ada makna tersendiri dan hikmahnya tersndiri yang mana akan membantu kita di masa akan datang … in order to success we must learn from the past exprienced.

A personality trait that comprises self-confidence, reliability, responsibility, resourcefulness, and goal-orientation.. which we can call it self-directedness. As a youth worker i have this self directedness which is also important when we do any work or even in everday life. We need self confidence in everday life which can makes us more reliable to others. From this we can feel more responsible what ever we do. Sometimes we need self-directedness in order to make the job more creative and more interesting which can also berguna bila we need to makes any decision which we must be responsible also.

Be Confident..Be Responsible..

As a youth worker we must be creative .. we must understand each people needs … we must be equal to people especially the youth because different people different needs and the way of thinking. Untuk membuat sesuatu aktibiti belia biasanya kita hendaklah bertanya and doing some research ( any tools like talk to them ) oleh itu kita akan tahu apa kemahuan dan keinginan belia itu sendiri dengan ini membolehkan sesuatu aktibiti itu more interesting and enjoyable.

Certain activity needs certain types of activity which can make them experienced individually. We can take this course as an example also … whatever we have learned and experienced we share the knowledge to them which they can experinced also. Also we can take our everday experinced… life experinced which we can share to them which can help them to think carefully whatever the decision are they making in daily life. However we can learn from each other also .. inda kira pangkat umur atau apa sahaja yang berkaitan dengannya. Nevertheless when comes to experinced we must share to them which will be useful for them inda kira banyak atau pun sedikit as long it help them.

Working at the youth and sport department under youth section were usually doing any activity with the community. From this we can berkerjasama membuat sesuatu aktibiti contohnya membuat kerja gotong royong di suatu kampong yang di tetapkan dengan ini bolehlah kita mempelajari lebih mendalam lagi dari segi banyak aspek like teamwork dan sebagainya. Dengan sendirinya juga kita boleh share experinced and knowledge to them which whatever we learned from them and we can share to them also.

We need Objectives and Goals in our life in order to success

Doing any activity for the youth need objective and goals which can gain from joining the activity. When we have this objective and goals it will usefull for them but we must make sure the activity reach the objectives and goals. We also need to plan any activity base on what they needs and want. dengan adanya minat untuk mengikuti apa sahaja aktibiti mereka akan sendirinya membelajari dan mengambil sesuatu daripadanya dengan lebih baik lagi. We also need to plan the activity for the future i mean keep on going. In order to make them learn we must give them motivation also make any activity more interesting and beruguna untuk mereka. Walaubagaimanapun tidak semestinya mengajar mereka melalui mengikuti activity belia sometimes we just talk to each other share everything but we must know our limit …. from this they will learned something and can help them for the future.

How do the following factors affect learning -motivation and needs of learners, emotional factors such as anxiety and fear, beliefs and attitudes, learning styles?



Factor affecting Learning


As always environment is very important and plays important roles in order to improve our way of learning and also to makes learning more interesting. Environment also can affect the way of thinking.. our mood.. dan sebagainya. For me i liked the environment more quiet this will help me to do the learning more easier and confortable. Environement also can affect our pyshical, social and psychological conditions. Kita semua tahu bahawa untuk membuat sesuatu kerja atau sesuatu untuk belajar .. fikiran adalah memainkan pernan penting untuk membuat sesuatu dengan baik. For me we can say that what we see can change our mind the way of thinking so it is important to have such a nice environment example the place must be clean…teratur… Selesa dari segi mana mana aspek contoh nya ada aircond dan sebagainya. All this can affect our mood and mind in order to do our leaning more baik lagi.


People around us also consider as our environment which can influenced us more. We can take example from attending the classes… we need teamwork form others … we need opinion from others .. we need talked to each others…. we need to discuss to each others… so this all can makes us untuk berfikir lagi secara terbuka dan membolehkan kita membuat sesuatu kerja itu dengan baik dan teratur lagi. Nevertheless it also can makes us vulnerble also dari segi banyak aspek contohnya seseorang itu inda mahu berkerjasama dan ini boleh menjejaskan sesuatu kerja atau cara kita befikir … dan all this can affect the way of we learning.

Different people different way of thinking .. different the way of thinking usually have different needs so meaning to say that everybody have different type of learning and needs. Walaubagaimanapun mereka semua akan share their experienced to others so we can learned to each others. What type of activity or something else have different type of needs and also different type of people also… meaning to say that it all depends on what we want.. what they want…. whtas the objective and so on.

In order to create better relationship withe the learners we need good teamwork…good environment…good realtionship…and be profesional. It doesnt matter what tools we use… face to face tools or through mobile phone..internet dan sebagainya ….. all this memainkan pernan penting dan semua tools ani mempunyai kelebihanya masing masing… tinggal kitanie sahaja yang mesti pandai membuat nya more interesting dan baik serta berjalan dengan lancar. As a youth worker also … i usally talk to the youth informally in order to make it more intresting and membolehkan lagi mereka to talk open and shared their experienced and knowledge more. So meaning to say that we must have better communication skills and also self-confidence which can help us to to this and having better relationship with them.


People need TEAMWORK and understand each other in order to success.

Motivation and needs of learners also play important role to have better way of learning and also can influnced more. Different people have different type of needs and motivation. we should respect them and share our experienced in order to improved. Dalam mencapai sesuatu kita hendaklah mempunya motivation yang tinggi dengan ini kita akan bersemangat lebih lagi untuk mecapai sesuatu itu so meaning to say that learners needs motivation yang tinggi. When we talked about needs … usually it different from each others so we have to be more flexible to each other… in order to make the environment more intresting dan baik.

Changing is very hard … we need time and good attitude in order to make it success. Lets talk about attitude… as laways semua orang ada berlainan attitude which can make and affect the way of learning different. walaubagaimanapun ia juga mempunya banyak kelebihan which can we use example attitude orang itu suka menolong orang … so it also can help people to do the work also.

For conclusion different people have different needs..different skills…dfferent way of thinking …different styles of learning…. its up to us to make it more intresting and more flexible…

Learning Journal For Unit 3

Education encompasses both the teaching and learning of knowledge, proper conduct, and technical competency. It thus focuses on the cultivation of skills, trades or professions, as well as mental, moral and aesthetic development. Formal education consists of systematic instruction, teaching and training by teachers.

Learning is truly a lifelong experience that offers many benefits. It can work to enrich your work life and social life, and can offer you great personal enjoyment and a sense of purpose. If you have been considering heading back to the classroom for some more education, you might first want to take into consideration the different types of learning experiences that are now available. Education isn’t just about traditional classroom learning anymore. Nowadays, there are a wide variety of classroom settings available to students of all ages.

Informal education is a general term for education outside of a standard school setting. It can refer to various forms of alternative education, such as:

->Unschooling or Homeschooling - from family friends and peer group

For me family we consider as informal education also because from our daily life we can learn something new especially from our parents brother and sisiter.

->Autodidacticism (Self-teaching) - from watching Tv/drama/sports.


From sports also we can learn somthing like teamwork.. courage..happiness..sadness..willing to do something which never give up and from seeing on tv can teach us to do the same also.


->Youth Work - youth work is the process of creating an environment where young people can engage in informal educational activities. Different varieties of youth work include centre-based work, detached work and school-based work."'Youth work' means a planned programme of education designed for the purpose of aiding and enhancing the personal and social development of young persons through their voluntary participation, and which is (a) complementary to their formal, academic or vocational education and training; and (b) provided primarily by voluntary youth work organisations.


Above picture is an example of youth activity (voluntary works) helping people who needed the most. Besides doing the voluntary works they automatically can learn to work as a group (teamwork) dan sebagainya.

The mass media and museums, libraries, zoos, and other community-based organizations and cultural institutions also offer forms of informal education.

Formal vs. Informal Education

Formal education is classroom-based, provided by trained teachers. Informal education happens outside the classroom, in after-school programs, community-based organizations, museums, libraries, or at home.

What are the main differences between the two?

In general, classrooms have the same kids and the same teachers every day. After-school programs are often drop-in, so attendance is inconsistent, as is leadership.

Classroom activities can last several days. After-school programs need to complete an activity each day because a different group of kids could be in attendance tomorrow.

You can assume that classroom-based teachers have a certain level of training in educational philosophy, effective teaching strategies, classroom management, and content. Based on my experienced……


As we all experienced all people going to school but the different is we not going the same school or we dont have the sama teacher to teach us …. we dont have the same environment … friends dan sebagainya. All this can make a different what we have learned. As for me, I spend 2 years at private school (Bakti Dewa School) and then i moved to primary school (Sekolah rendah Haji Tarif) for only 4 years and i moved again to another primary school (Sekolah Rendah Marsal)… from this i experienced a lot of different type of education because different schhol have different type of environment … teachers … friends dan sebagainya. During my time at primary school… honestly im not joining any club acitivites.. i did join one time during my time at primary school which is Club main catur but it doesnt last long because i have to transfer to another school …. for me this can termasuk dalam different types of education although saya inda berapa lama mengikuti club main catur atu but i did learned something about it. I remmeber during my time at primary school … we also teach how to jaga our teeth and every six month there is doctor came to our school to checked our teeth and teach us how to clean it .. how to brush it and how to jaga it. All this things main objective is to educate us and consider as educatrion also.


Oh yea forget to mention … as a muslim we also going to religious school which teach us different type of education than what we have learn at primary school. Kebanyakkannya subject yang di ajar dari sekolah ugama ani mengajar about our agama which is ISLAM. Tentang hukum hukum dan dan sebagainya which is relates to our everyday life. So it is very important for us to go to religious school in order to learned and experienced many type of different things. So basically during primary school time … there is many type of education that i learned and experienced just everbody does also but the only different is we dont have the same experienced but the knowldege were given was the same. During my time at secondary school i spend 6 years (Sekolah Menengah Berakas) during my time at secondary school there’a a lot of different thing that i learned. Beside leaning what we must learned at school i also leaned new things such as friendship .. teamwork dan sebagainya. As we knew that whatever result we have during o level exam … there is a peluang atau jalan yang berbeza untuk menerus perjalanan untuk belajar lagi. But based on my expereinced im not qualify to join any relevant school because of my result is not so good .. i think for 1 year i am unemployed but during that time i managed to go to evening class to take A level exam privately. So basically i dont want to waste any time when there is an opportunity we must grab it.


In our life … we will learn new things … we will never stop leaning new things as for me i started work at Youth and Sport Department under Youth Section at the age of 18 years old… yeaaa i started so early so it is very difficult for me to adjust anything such as how to communicate with other colleague and the environment is totally different from school time. but one thing for sure that i leaned many things and also expericed many things which can teach me and useful for the future. Oh yea forget to mention that currently im working at Temburong distrct from the the first day of my worked thats mean its almost 6 years already i worked with youth and sport deparment under youth section at temburong district.

When we talk about learning process….. yet we were still learning as long we still live but the process might be a different from each others. What ever we leaned at school were relevant to our future life but it also depends on what we really want. Just take my job as an example …. currently im working under youth section which most of my work were related to the youth activity for almost six years i already worked … too many experienced already which i can learned for myself. In youth work we also face so many different type of people especially the youth so there is challenged. Dalam dunia ini semua orang menghadapi masalah … tidak kira apa jenis masalahnya dan ia juga terjadi kepada belia belia … one thing yang baiknya biasanya when we seat togather with them inda kira lah secara individu o as a small group… we share our problem .. any problem regarding apa yang menimpa diri mereka pada masa silam dan sebagainya. Ini tidak bermakna untuk mengungkit dan untuk ingin tahu keburkkan seseorang tetapi we just wanne share our experieced what we have been through our life inda kira yang baik atau pahit. from this we can learned somthing serba sedikit untuk diri kira supaya kita berhati hati untuk menjalani hidup yang akan kita lalui nanti.


From experienced we can learned somthing … from experienced we can make ourself strong and mature in order to face any problem or challenged in our life dari segi how to communicate with other person in real life because dalam hidup kita seharian kita sering communicate each other lebih lebih lagi dengan zaman globalisasi ini ianya lebih senang untuk berkomunikasi dengan seseorang contoh nya melalui INTERNET… MOBILE PHONE… E-MAIL….. this is also part of learning proses in our life because dunia sentiasa berubah… bila ianya berubah kira akan melalui perubahan yang baru … dan bilanya ada perubahan yang baru kita akan belajar benda yang baru. Informal Education….. there is many type of informal education somtimes ia nya tanpa kita sedari berada di sekeliling kita …. dan bila bila masa ianya kita pelajari. Lets talk about family first, family is very important to everybody .. for me its part of the culture in Brunei that ‘family comes first’. There’s a lot of many things we can learned semasa hidup bersama keluarga ini as for me dari kecil hinggalah ke besar i still learned new things especially from my parents. Its culture of bruneian that we respect orang yang lebih tua daripada kita …. it culture of bruneian people we listen what they said as part of advice for us. Example any big decision making i must refer to my family first… minta nasihat what to do or something. ini membolehkan lagi kita berfikir dengan lebih terbuka lagi dan membolehkan kita membuat sesuatu keputusan dengan tepat dan baik.


I rembered when i was still a kid …. we lived closed with other family (Suadara-mara) every night during 6-8pm we gathered at my uncle house to learned or mengaji Al-quraan…this also can say part of informal education in our family tradition…bukan sahaja ianya mengajar kami mengaji tetapi dengan sendirinya ianya boleh mendisiplin kan kami dari segi pakaian .. masa … dan sebagainya. Peer groups is also can influenced everbody in order to make decision or anything. For me peer groups adalah yang kedua penting after family because peer groups also always be around. We lived different type of sorroundings or environment so there is many things that we have learned from each others which can infleunced ourself.


As i already mentioned i worked at youth and sports department under youth section…. we always doing activity gotong royong ke kampung kampung togather with the youth and also orang kampung di sana …. too many experienced that i gone through because different kampung different people…. different people diferent way of thinking dan sebangainya …. ini membolehkan lagi kita untuk befikiran lebih jauh terbuka. Walaubagaimanapun ada terdapat cabaran cabaran yang di hadapi sepanjang menjalankan this aktibiti… kalau nada cabaran dan dugaaan for me we can’t learned new things. The workplace also taught me alot … i experienced many things which is very useful for me although saya baru keraja for almost 6 years. Salah satu yang saya belajari selama saya bekeraja di Jabatan Belia dan Sukan cawangan daerah Temburong ialah Teamwork….Friendship..Love….Happy… Sad…. Tired….Relax dan banyak lagi. Dari pengalaman saya bekeraja ani kami sering bercakap secara public and communicate dengan orang inda kira ia lebih tua daripada saya atau lebih muda dariapda saya … bukan sahaja itu, dengan ada nya orang berpengalaman daripada kita… they will shared their experienced also and mengajar how to do to the work at first its hard for me but then kalau kita buat benda itu selalu lama lama kita akan belajar dariapadanya ….. Contohnya kalau terjadinya pertukaran ketua di tempat kita bekerja atau ada orang baru di tempat kita kerja … the environment will change … cara cara pentadbiran pun bertukar .. kerana lain orang lain caranya but its good though kerana dapat belajar lagi atau berpeluang lagi menimba ilmu pengetahuan dengan orang lain..


Mass media also memainkan pernan penting dalam hidup kita lebih lebih lagi dalam hidup pada zaman globalisasi ini….. somtimes it can change people or the sourrounding very quick…Example mobile phone… it really makes people easier to communicate each other or contact each other although its far from our house or workplace. Internet especially blogging will help the individu to publish his/her experienced … for its kinda like learning journal where er write about our daily life… event … youth activity dan sebagainya. from internet also we can contact more easily. Nevertheless there is also negative thing about this things its up to us how to handle the case.. from this we can learned soooo many things.

Learning Journal For Unit 2

In this unit we will learn about learning from philosophical and psychological perspectives which will imroved our ability to discuss the different philosophies of education which also can be improved by discuss the theory of informal education and its relationship to youth work development and discuss the nature of experintial learning and its pratical application.

From above video i found it on YOUTUBE which is very intresting to watch. For me this video give so much meaning regarding about education which everbody can learn, meaning to say that education for all no matter where we are...as long we have motivation and want to learn something new although we have to sacrifices so many things like money, time and so on. Di mana ada kemahuan di situ ada jalan... begitu juga dengan belajar.. learning dont have any limitation as well as age and status.

Developing for the whole person - Everyday life we will something new ... from learning we will experienced so many thing and from expericed we will learn new skills which will help ourself and from what we have we shared to people expecially our knowledge and experienced.

No matter what we learn from early stage of our life to nowadays we will keep on changing... changing need somthing new which require to keep on learning.

Maturation and readiness to learn - Maturation could refer to any of the following:

-> Developmental biology
-> Emotional development

Readiness - The state or quality of being ready; preparation; promptness; aptitude; willingness.

When we talked about maturation and readiness it will relates to our experinced of evryday life. Whatever we face during the past will makes us stronger.. more mature and ready for anything.

What can we see from this photo?? children learn how to play video games and the most important thing is there is someone to guide them someone to teach them someone to motivate them someone to encourage them... this is what learner needs and motivation. From above picture also we can see their parents sister or brother participate to play the video games which is very good experienced for them. From this they can learn to each others and from that also they will learn something new which they can shares their skills and knowledge also.

In this unit i learnt how to promote skills and attitudes relevant to life-long education and the use of learning experiences to promote total development. The principles underlying the methods considered suitable for the teaching of adults and how to consider learners needs and motivations so as to organiz the teaching learning environment according to an holistic perspective.

Opinion :-

Learning is a proces of life …. when we learn more we can gain more knowledge. As far as i am concerned learning dont have a limitation dari segi mana mana aspect as well as umur, status dan lain lain lagi. Walaubagaimanapun untuk belajar perlunya kemahuan diri yang kuar … self confident dan sebagainya ( di mana kemahuan di situ ada jalan ). As we knew also learning can be categories … Learning at school, learning at home, belajar melalui internet, belajar dengan orang sekeliling mengenai kehidupan dan sebagainya. We all learn something through our life as for me i learned more from experienced (school, home, friends)

Education is important for everybody… Education has no limit for everyone… Education need motivation… Education need encouragement… Education need pengorbanan dari segi banyak aspect such as pengorbanan dari segi masa dengan keluarga dengan kawan dan sebagainya.


There is many type of education in our life… currently im working at youth section which involved many youth activites. For me youth activities is also part of education but it also depends what type of activities for example Bengkel Gulintangan - di sini belia belia belajar asas cara cara bermain gulintangan dan ini adalah satu perkara yang baik kerana dengan ada nya bengkel sebegini mereka dapat lagi belajar denganlebih mendalam lagi tentang alat muzik gulintangan bahkan ilmu yang mereka dapat atu dapat di gunakan untuk menambah kan lagi pendapatan mereka dari segi wang. Contohnya mereka di jemput untuk membuat persembahan di jemputan kahwin dan sebagainya dengan ada bayaran so this can help them lah. Education is meluas lah …. di mana saja kita berada tani buleh belajar secara langsung atau tidak langsung. EDUCATION FOR ALL!!

Learn from your experienced … from experienced we can learn Everything especially experieced from kehidupan kitanie seharian. Dalam pengalaman yang kitanie dapat ani boleh developed ourself dari segi skills kitanie such how to communicate with other people … how to understand people and temawork. Dari kecil hingga ke besar kita sentiasa belajar … but stage by stage. For me everday we can learn the new things. Example today i learned doing all the CYP assingment through internet …. so for me this example for lifelong learning.

Again when we talked about maturation and readiness it relates to our experienced in our life. Pengalaman mengajar kita untuk bersedia di masa akan datang dan pengalaman juga boleh mematang kan lagi orang itu walaupun orang atu still dalam linkungan umur yang muda lagi. This is unic when we think about kehidupan….. luas pandangan luas lagi pengalaman. We need vision and goal in order tuk capai cita cita dalam hidup kita. Dengan ini diri kita akan sendirinya bersemangat untuk mencapai cita cita itu. Participation is very important to our life because from that we can learn many new things. Banyak Pengalaman luas lah pandangan …. in our lfe we can discover many things walaupun ianya satu kegagalan …. kerana kegagalan boleh membuatkan kita lebih tabah lagi dan kegagalan juga kunci kita untuk berjaya meaning to say that kita inda boleh give up dalam satu satu perkara dengan begitu cepat bahkan kita semestinya berusaha dengan lebih gigih lagi untuk mencapai sesuatu dalam hidup kita.

Keadaan sekliling adalah begitu penting dalam kehidupan kita tetapi ia tidak bererti keadaan sekeliling kita tidak begitu menyenangkan hidup kita pun tidak senang. tetapi kita mestilah berusaha untuk menukar keadaan sekeliling kita untuk mengubah kehidupan kita seharian. this is because keadaan sekliling mamainkan pernana penting dalam hidup kita which can influenced more to ourself. Lets talk about failure first…. kegagalan… gagal sekali inda semestinya gagal selamanya untuk mencapai kejayaan mestilah ada usaha yang gigih… inda boleh give up kerana usaha tangga kejayaan. kegagalan juga boleh mengajar kita erti kehidupan …. kalau nada pengalaman menghadapi kegagalan dalam hidup juga boleh membuat kita tidak besedia di masa akan datang. again experienced is very important to everyone… sometimes kegagalan ani motivation kita untuk berjaya dalam hidup. For me beliefs came from our heart and minds…. when minds thinks negatively heart will also say negatively ….. so its is vey important to have self belief … belief from our family belief from friends. In our life we need disiplin …. which we can also say it as control and regulation…. we must have this because it is very important for us untuk mencapai cita cita atau sesuatu yang baru hendak di belajari. dengan adanya disiplin dari segi masa which we can organize more properly… time management more accurately this will not affect others plan or somthing. for me hidup dalam dunia ani kita mestilah membuat sesuatu dengan ada had limit nya tersendiri .. someone to control…. ada rules and regulation dalam sesebuat negara itu …. dengan ini boleh lah kita belajar untuk meghormati orang dan menghormati diri sendiri.


Biasanya orang meliat seseorang itu dari ke ulahan seseorang atu …. contohnya ke ulahan seseorang atu inda baik … they will think that person is bad … attitude menngambar kan macam mana orang atu sebenarnya walaubagaimanapun as a youth worker …. we must fikirkan jua macam mana untuk mengubah sesoerang atu walaupun ia nya terlalu susah kerana mesti ada sebab sebab yang tertentu kenapa ia punya attitudes macam atu…. people can change ….. change is hard from that we can learn so many things its like a challenge for us …

Learning Journal For Unit 1

What is learning?

This unit offers us the ooportunity to anaylyse what learning is all about. It also introduce to us to the main theroies of learning and how learning takes place. To most of us, "learning" means an attempt to create a memory that lasts. Mastering new dance steps, learning foreign languages, or remembering acquaintances' names require our brains to encode and store new information until we need it. As always learning can be categorries into many part such as :-



An inner process - It is a process of internal change and can be observed by others in the form of a change in behaviour or performance. Example is Friendly with people.

Performance - Behaviour that is observable by someone else. Example is Learn how to understand people.

Change - there is many type of changes such as temporary changes, permanent changes, natural responses and maturation and all the will relates to our changes in understandings, attitude or skills. Example Makes more friends.

Not always a result of teaching - learning does not necessarily take place as a result of teaching. Example to be a good listner we dont need someone to teach us.

Intentional/unintentional learning - intentional learning is somthig that we want to to learn like from library or from teachers and unintentional learning something to do with what we learn goes unrecognised because we are not concious of it. Example learn somthing from TV or Drama.

Learning is unconcious (innate, automatic system) - Some example for this is know people feelings.

Importance of meaning and understanding - Tell them how we feel and understand each other.

Scaffolding and zone proximal development - as always we need help and advise from people especially to our parents, friends and colleague.

Transfer - something to do with knowledege or skills which we shared to them and also the strategic or skills how to talk in public.

Behaviourist - something to do with what we learn from seeing any behaviour or movement like by seeing someone kicking a ball automatically we learn something from it.

Cognitivist learning theory - Listen and understand them.

Humanist learning theory - Remind each other, care each other or teamwork.

How do adult learn?

Learn from people by giving advise to each other or remind to each other, listen what they want, listen what they want to say ... respect each other.



In the figure above, it is clear that some of what we teach is wasted effort: but the diagram is a representation of only one learner’s learning. It may be that within a class as a whole, everything we teach is learned, by someone. The shape representing the teaching is smaller than that for learning, because students are also learning from other sources, including colleagues and the sheer experience of being in the educational system, as well as more conventional other resources such as books.

Experiental learning - whatever we learned from past experienced we used it and learned from past mistake example how to tackle the problem.

Accelerated learning - Minggle with more people, talk to the people and share knowledge and experienced which we can learn something from it properly.
